About the Core
Mission: To provide NIDA researchers with state-of-the-art techniques in mass spectrometry. This includes collaborations helping NIDA researchers’ answers their questions about the presence, distribution, and concentrations of molecules in their biological samples. The core possesses expertise in biological mass spectrometry in particular matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS).
Services: The NIDA Structural Biology Core offers the following services:
- The Structural Biology Core services are tailored to the needs of individual IRP researchers. Services include providing exact mass measurements; structural identification of drugs, metabolites, lipids and peptides; global lipidomic analysis and mass spectrometry imaging.
- Training and access to different types of mass spectrometers and computers for data analysis are available upon request.
