Background
Ben attended St. Mary’s College of Maryland, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. His senior thesis focused on the role of the endogenous cannabinoid system in a rodent model of Schizophrenia, made possible by an award from Pfizer. After graduating St. Mary’s College of Maryland, with an honorarium from the state of Maryland for earning the top score in a Senior Exam in Methods and Statistics, he accepted an IRTA post-baccalaureate fellowship in the Designer Drug Research Unit at the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Ben has continued to investigate cannabinoids; currently, his research aims to ascertain the neuropharmacology of novel synthetic cannabinoids and how these compounds compare to the established pharmacological properties of other cannabinoids, such as THC . Ben plans on pursuing a PhD in neuropharmacology after his time as an IRTA fellow.
